Lenses
Why is there no UV added to the lens, and a waterproof option?
All lenses at Gentseyewear are scratch-resistant, anti-reflective, UV-resistant, and impact-resistant. We are dedicated to providing our customers with eyewear of unparalleled quality. We understand the invaluable nature of a superior visual experience, which is why we insist on using the finest materials and collaborating with industry-leading manufacturers to ensure that every pair of glasses meets the highest standards.
What is the difference between photochromic lenses and polarized lenses?
Photochromic lenses darken in sunlight, providing UV protection and convenience, while polarized lenses reduce glare from surfaces like water and roads, enhancing clarity in specific situations.
What lenses should I choose for outdoor sports?
Consider the following options when choosing lenses for outdoor sports:
Polarized Lenses: These lenses reduce strong reflections from surfaces such as water and snow, minimizing glare and improving visual clarity.
100% UV Protection: Ensure that your chosen lenses provide full UV protection to protect your eyes from harmful UV radiation.
Impact-resistant lenses: For high-intensity sports such as skiing and mountain biking, choose impact-resistant lenses to protect your eyes in the event of an accidental collision.
By the way, all lenses at Gentseyewear are scratch-resistant, anti-reflective, UV-resistant, and impact-resistant.
Appropriate lens color and coating: Depending on your specific sport, choose the right lens color and coating to enhance contrast and visibility. For example, dark-colored lenses are good for bright conditions, while yellow or orange lenses are good for rainy or cloudy days.
Large coverage or wrap-around frames: Choose lenses with large coverage or wrap-around frames to prevent side glare and provide a better view.
Sports-specific frame designs: Some brands offer frames designed for different outdoor sports. These designs ensure stability and prevent them from slipping off during intense exercise.
At the end of the day, it is always best to consult an optometrist or eyewear professional to choose the best outdoor sports lenses for your needs and personal situation.
Whether to choose a photochromic lens or a polarized lens?
Photochromic Lenses: If you want convenience, they automatically adjust to changing light conditions and provide UV protection. They're versatile for both indoor and outdoor use.
Polarized Lenses: If you're often in situations with glare, like driving or outdoor activities near water. They enhance clarity and reduce glare from horizontal surfaces.

Why Choose Progressive Glasses?
According to optometrist's recommendation, using progressive glasses offers a smooth transition between different lens prescriptions. They're beneficial for individuals with presbyopia, a common age-related vision issue. Progressive lenses allow you to see clearly at varying distances, including close-up, intermediate, and distance vision, without the visible lines found in traditional bifocals. This provides a more natural and seamless viewing experience, eliminating the need to switch between different pairs of glasses for different tasks. This solution not only offers convenience but also enhances visual comfort, making everyday activities smoother and more enjoyable.
What is the difference between bifocals and progressive glasses?
Bifocals have visible lines that separate two prescriptions, while progressive glasses have no lines and provide a gradual transition between prescriptions. Bifocals offer distinct distance and near vision segments, requiring head movement, while progressives offer seamless vision correction at various distances. Progressives are aesthetically pleasing, though they require an adjustment period, whereas some find bifocals easier to adapt to due to their clear separation of prescriptions.
Progressive eyeglasses are gradually replacing bifocals due to their smoother transition between different distances, natural appearance without visible lines, and the convenience of not needing to switch glasses frequently. With progressive lenses, users can seamlessly shift from close-up to intermediate to distant vision, resulting in reduced visual discomfort. The absence of a visible line on the lens provides a more stylish and confident look, while the all-in-one design eliminates the need for carrying multiple pairs of glasses. This combination of comfort, aesthetics, and convenience has led to the increasing popularity of progressive eyeglasses.
If you've been using bifocals, try progressive glasses and experience the difference!
Why do you need to enter segment height?
Segment Height, also known as Segment Height or SH, is the vertical measurement in millimeters from the bottom of the lens in your frames, to the beginning of the progressive addition on a progressive lens, or the top line of a lined bifocal. Segment height does not apply to Single Vision lenses. The determined Segment Height is specific to each frame and wearer.
